Our Story
Summer 1988 – Kate and Blake attended the same summer camp, and even performed in a show together (when they were 5), but somehow, they never met…
February 1990 – Kate’s family moved to the deep woods of Weston, Connecticut. Little did she know, Blake lived in that same small town, just a seven-minute walk away.
August 2001 – Before their freshman year at college, they both signed up for the Columbia Outdoor Orientation Program. Hiking in small groups, Kate and Blake started on opposite ends of the same trail, meeting halfway in between. When setting up camp and chatting, Kate realized that Blake was also a CT resident. Super excited, she pressed for specifics, soon realizing they were nearly next-door neighbors.
Through college, they were in the same circle of friends, getting closer each year.
August 2005 – After they both ended up in Weston for the summer, they started started dating. Blake stayed in New York for graduate school, while Kate spent the next two years in Connecticut and Washington, DC. They made the best of being long distance, but she realized that her heart was still up north. She moved back home to NYC, and spent the next two awesome years enjoying New York, living in the East Village.
November 2009 – They moved in together, and made their first home in a cute apartment on Jones Street, right in the heart of Greenwich Village.
June 2011 – Blake proposed! Kate said yes! (It was perfect!)
February 2012 – Blake’s company moved into the same building as Kate’s!
(Their evening commute continues to be really, really awesome.)
October 6, 2012 – Our wedding!!! We can’t wait to see you there!
